MICHALEA MOORE

 

Michalea is a technical editor and information architect at the IBM corporation.  She recently joined the QWG when she moved to Quincy, IL from Austin, TX and is the mother of two children, two corgis, and a Great Dane.

 

She travels every chance she gets and her favorite place in the whole world is Luxor, Egypt, though she is also partial to Hobart, Tasmania.

 

She has a BA from the University of Illinois-Champagne-Urbana in Rhetoric and a dual minor in Philosophy and Classics with an emphasis on mythology.

 

Michalea started writing early, finishing her first book in 3rd grade as gift for a teacher.  Since then she has written over 200 software-related books and multiple help systems for Fortune 100 and 500 companies, served as a writer-in-residence for the Poets in the Schools program in both Illinois and Missouri, published a book of poetry from Salt Lick Press/Lucky Heart books called Next Services, which was underwritten by the Illinois Arts Council and won several contests for her unpublished novel, Queen of Heka.

 

She currently maintains a weekly blog and a wiki on technical writing, edits newsletters, and is serving as Vice-President for the QWG.
